ABOUT US

About Us: Portfolio

The Sanctuary is a ministry of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), which was established in Lagos, Nigeria in 1952. The General Overseer of the Church is Pastor E. A. Adeboye. This is a ministry with over 5 million worshippers and about 5000 parishes worldwide.

OUR STORY

The Sanctuary started at the Pastor's apartment in April 1994 as a house fellowship of brethren with a passion to preach the good news to the poor, bind up the broken-hearted, proclaim freedom for the captives and declare the Lord's favour, and on the 19th June 1994, the parish was commissioned by Pastor Ade Okonrende of the then Angel Parish at the old Town Hall in Stratford to hold both meetings and services on Sunday.

The church, in pursuit of its church premises, pulled its resources together and bought the permanent site at Tom Allen Centre, Grove Crescent Road, Stratford in May 1996. At the Sanctuary, God increased the church above its capacity and of course beyond the expected; however this led to the birth of other parishes: The Bethel Parish which commenced in 1997, Charity Parish in 1998, Jesus People in 1999, the Garden of Hope in Liverpool in 2002, the Sanctuary Cyprus 2003 and Holy Pilgrim Parish 2014.

LEADERSHIP

RCCG - The Sanctuary is blessed with leaders who are disciples and followers of Jesus. Our Pastors; Tayo and Yetunde Ayodele are true example of disciples who are ‘disciples indeed’.

They invite, guide and encourage all the members of the church to follow them as they follow Jesus. Although the road to Calvary is very narrow and does not accommodate many things that others seek after in life and ministry, our Pastors have and continue to lead the way in sticking to this narrow way. As many church members as are willing to ‘deny themselves, pick up their cross and follow Him daily, using our Pastors as audio-visual examples of what it really means to follow Jesus have found rest for their souls.

Will you join us on this journey?

They are supported by a leadership team of Pastors, Deacons and Heads of Department.
